Setup Guide - YouTube Analytics

Follow our setup guide to connect YouTube Analytics data to DataChannel.

Prerequisites

To connect YouTube Analytics to DataChannel, you need:

  • A Google Account that you use to sign in to YouTube Studio.

  • Access to the Channel data- Do ensure a user profile with appropriate permissions to access the channel data has been created. You can read more about managing access to your channel data, tools, and features in YouTube and YouTube Studio on the YouTube website.

  • Please ensure that you have applied for and enabled API access through the Google Cloud Console.You can read about the process to do so here

Setup instructions

  1. Select a data destination for your YouTube Analytics Data. If you have not yet added a data warehouse, go to data warehouse tab and add a warehouse.

    Data Warehouse once selected cannot be changed.
  2. Authorise DataChannel to connect to your YouTube Studio account using OAuth using the process described here.

A popup as shown below will prompt you to choose the account you wish to connect to:

You will be required to allow Datachannel to access your Google Account:

Wait for the configuration to be validated:

  1. Click on + Data Pipeline to start adding data pipelines to your account.

  2. Details of individual objects and reports are available here.

  3. Select the required pipeline from the list and click Next

  4. Configure the pipeline by setting the report parameters in the given fields.
