Pre-requisites to Setup : Microsoft SharePoint

In order to pull data from Microsoft SharePoint, you will need to create a Service Principal by granting admin access.

  1. Log in to Azure Portal with an account that has Global Admin or Application Admin rights.

  2. Go to: Azure Active Directory → Enterprise applications.

  3. Search for the DataChannel app using its App ID: 21c35900-ef23-4d5d-8ace-6a99a25a4f53

  4. If you don’t find it listed:

    • Go to App registrations → search for the same App ID.

    • Once located, open the app → go to Permissions (under Security) → click Grant admin consent for <Your Organization>.

  5. If the application is still not found:

    • Open the following URL in your browser: Grant Admin Consent Link.

    • If you see a toast message asking for admin privileges, sign in with a Global Admin account and try the link again. You should see a toast asking for the following permissions :

  6. After granting consent successfully, repeat Steps 2 & 3 and open the DataChannel SharePoint application.

  7. Go to Users & Groups (under Manage) and either:

    • Add the user who will be used for SharePoint authorization, or

    • Authorize credentials from a user with the Application Developer role.
